ABOUT CONDUIT

We understand how the big end of town works.
We built Conduit to do it better.

A small team of ex-Mag 7 engineers and architects, working with mid-market companies across Australia.

Who we are

Conduit is a software engineering and architecture practice. Our team has spent careers inside organisations that move slowly by design: Microsoft, large government departments, major financial institutions, and big-4 consulting. We know what good looks like at scale, and we know what it costs when done the old way.

We work with mid-market companies, small government departments, and organisations that sit between "off-the-shelf is fine" and "we need a full IT function." The companies that have real problems and real budgets, but can't justify enterprise rates to solve them.

Our background

EX-MICROSOFT

Engineering and architecture experience inside one of the world's largest software companies. We've shipped products used by millions, navigated complex security and compliance requirements, and worked with AI infrastructure from the inside.

EX-GOVERNMENT

We understand the constraints that come with regulated environments: data sovereignty, procurement, audit trails, and the stakeholder complexity that comes with public sector work.

EX-ACCENTURE

We've seen how large consulting engagements are scoped, staffed, and priced. We know which parts of that model add value and which parts are overhead. We cut the overhead.

EX-FINANCE

Experience in high-stakes, high-reliability environments where data accuracy, audit trails, and system uptime aren't optional. We build with that discipline regardless of the client's size.

Why we started Conduit

The same pattern kept showing up. A mid-market company wants to do something with AI, or needs a custom application, or has a proof-of-concept that's grown past the point of being maintainable. They get three options:

A big-4 firm charges $200k for a strategy document that never ships.
An offshore dev shop quotes low, misses the brief, and delivers something that needs rebuilding.
They try to hire in-house and discover that senior engineering talent is expensive and slow to find.

None of those options are good. Conduit exists to be the fourth option: experienced engineers who scope it properly, build it onshore, and hand it over without making themselves hard to replace.

How we work

Fixed scope, fixed price. We don't do time-and-materials engagements. They misalign incentives and make budgeting impossible. Every project starts with a scoping call, produces a written proposal with a set price and clear deliverables, and ends with a handover where you own everything.

Onshore, human-in-the-loop. We don't outsource delivery. The engineers on the scoping call are the engineers who build it. You have a direct line to the people doing the work, and you see progress weekly, not at the end.

No lock-in. The code is yours. The documentation is yours. We write things in standard, well-understood languages and frameworks so that any competent engineer can pick it up after we hand over.

Ready to scope something?

30 minutes, free. We'll tell you honestly whether we're the right fit. If we're not, we'll point you somewhere that is.
